Claire Chase, flute

Annea Lockwood, composer
The Olivier Music Barn, 2:00 PM
Program
Flutist and interdisciplinary artist Claire Chase will give a special pop-up performance at 2:00 PM.
Chase is sharing a work-in-progress for the 12th installment of Density 2036, a 24-year initiative launched in 2013 to create a bold new repertory for the flute, composed by Annea Lockwood. Chase, Lockwood, and audio engineer Caley Monahan-Ward, will be in residence at Tippet Rise for several days working on Elwha!, a new piece for seven flutes and 7.1 sound, created in collaboration with the Elwha River in the Olympic Peninsula—the ancestral and spiritual home of the Lower Elwha Klallam people.
Tickets to this concert are $10 for adults, and free to those 21 and under.
Tippet Rise is open from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM for those with hiking and biking reservations. Guests of this performance are invited to arrive before the concert, or stay after, to explore trails and artworks within our main Cottonwood Campus.
Lunch prepared by PREROGATIvE KITCHEN will be available for purchase in Will’s Shed from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM, while supplies last.
